Seems a werewolf, not a bugbear

Isn't he too much like a character from "Planet of the Apes"? At least for me he's too ape-like (definitely not "bear-like") and lacks recognizably "goblinoid" traits, whatever they might be.

In my opinion, this bugbear looks way too scrawny and lean than the one's I'm used to. Prefer the 3rd edition depiction. More stocky and bulky.

Looks amazing, but a bugbear have to look a bit stronger, like he can go all day kicking smaller goblinoids. I will love to have a miniature of this guy.

I'm assuming this is an outdated design? Because I like this one way better:

To the Contrary, i would like to see Bugbears beign depicted as it's mithological conterparts - The BogeyMen. Cruel, sadistic, viciously mad.

Yeah, one of the challenges you could say is making monsters look menacing or what-not, when the goal is to show just how they look overall. This was concept work to show how their armor and basic design would be, so it tends to be static. This way a 3D artist (for example) can take him and complete it without having to guess so much.

The next piece after this look is established, would be to show the bugbears in action, or in a setting, so their personalities would show more.

Looks more civilized than how I picture bugbears - but cool work nonetheless!
