Thanks for the comments all. :) Our instructions were specifically not to have facial hair for the female dwarf design. Personally, I wouldn't want it either and don't get why it's that important (despite the lore or not) - but again - that's just me.

It's not to say WoTC won't go that direction though...always pretty easy to add hair in. The challenge is doing it effectively and still having an appealing character to visualize players wanting to play.

The only problem I have with this is that she has no facial hair, she's a female dwarf and they do indicate in the forgotten realms books that female dwarves do have facial hair, other then that this is AMAZING!

'Tis awesome!
She looks cute, strong, authentic and fits well in the D&D-universe.

Agree with AngyAngryMan-- nice balance between the stockiness of a dwarf and teh femininity of a woman.

Jeez, lots of critics on here eh? Be nicer people. Or, even better, you guys should post links to your "better versions". Oh wait, what's that, you can't draw?

Great job, keep it up! Love seeing the works in progress and can't wait to see final versions that get accepted. You should print these in a sketchbook or calendar. I'd buy it.

While I miss the iconic look the dwarves had in 4e, the rational side of me doesn't miss the cleavage armor and head-sized breasts the females had.

That's a really good dwarf female. I would not mess with her in a dark alley. About the only thing I would say would be maybe work on the face just a wee bit more. A little bigger nose might make her look more traditional dwarfy. Having never read a book in my entire life, I can't say for certain if the beard should be there or not. If only there was someone out there that has just read ONE book, and now knows how every imaginary character should look...

Well done artwork but the colours are too bright, shiny and clean. The whole gallery has a very kiddie-friendly look and no grit.
