Strongheart Halfling (Male) concept art for The Forgotten Realms (Dungeons & Dragons).
The challenge for designing a unique looking and contemporary halfling design was to make the silhouette work without there being the need at all times to have a size comparison. At a glance, the viewer should be able to tell that these are not just "tiny humans", which wouldn't have worked unless you had them side-by-side. In this particular pic, he's holding the mushroom to give an indication of size, but even without it, he would have felt small. What do you think?
